Comparative investigation of diagnostic media for induction motors: a case of rotor cage faults
نویسندگان
چکیده
Results of a comparative experimental investigation of various media for noninvasive diagnosis of rotor faults in induction motors are presented. Stator voltages and currents in an induction motor were measured, recorded, and employed for computation of the partial and total input powers and of the estimated torque. Waveforms of the current, partial powers and , total power, and estimated torque were subsequently analyzed using the Fast Fourier Transform. Several rotor cage faults of increasing severity were studied with various load levels. The partial input power was observed to exhibit the highest sensitivity to rotor faults. This medium is also the most reliable, as it includes a multiplicity of fault-induced spectral components.

Magnetic Saturation Impacts on Fault Analysis of Squirrel-cage Six Phases Induction Motors using Winding Function Approach
Multiple coupled circuit modeling (MCCM) of squirrel-cage induction motors (SCIMs), or winding function approach is the most detailed and complete analytical model used to analyze the performance of faulty SCIMs. Already, in variate papers this approach was used to 3phases SCIMs, but this paper extends the above-mentioned model to 6phases SCIMs. Various simulations of variative faults are carri...

The detection of broken rotor bars in three-phase squirrel cage induction motors by means of current signature analysis is presented. In order to diagnose faults, a Neural Network approach is used. At first the data of different rotor faults are achieved. The effects of different rotor faults on current spectrum, in comparison with other fault conditions, are investigated via calculating Power ...

متن کاملFinite Element Diagnosis of Squirrel Cage Induction Motors with Rotor Bar Faults
This paper deals with the finite element analysis of a specific fault of the squirrel cage induction motors consisting in rotor bars breaking. Several variants of rotor bar faults are studied, using both quasi-static and transient magnetic field analyses. The numerical results in the reference case of healthy motor are experimentally validated by laboratory measurements.
